Gorges De L’Herault

Gorges De L’Herault

It was a beautiful day to take a Kayak down the Herault. Denis, Clemence and I got a great workout and had an enjoyable day.

To the northwest of the Grand Pic Saint-Loup, the Hérault meanders through an incredible landscape of rocky gorges and Mediterranean vegetation.

The Gorges de l'Hérault is a magnificent landscape, both wild and refreshing, rich in leisure activities and the discovery of exceptional sites.

Swimming, canoeing and kayaking down the Hérault, climbing, hiking ... so many exotic outdoor activities that the professionals will help you discover, whatever your level.

Discover also the magnificent medieval villages of the Grand Pic Saint-Loup such as St-Martin de Londres or Notre-Dame de Londres, as well as the exceptional sites of the Grand Pic Saint-Loup such as the medieval village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert or the remarkable abbey of Gellone.

After running down the Cévennes through the Séranne mountains, the Hérault River has sculpted untamed gorges which are a sight for sore eyes from the Pont du Diable. The "Devil's Bridge" is the oldest Roman bridge in France and rumoured to be heavily weighed down. Walk over the bridge then cross the new Passerelle des Anges (Angel's Bridge) designed by the architect Rudy Ricciotti, for unobstructed views.
